Coe-Brown Announces Top Graduates of The Class Of 2019
Coe-Brown Northwood Academy is proud to announce the top graduates of the Class of 2019.
The Valedictorian for the class of 2019 is Emma Tobbe, daughter of Jennifer and John Tobbe of Northwood. During her high school career Emma has been a member of the Varsity Lacrosse team and the Math Team. Emma has also been a member of the National Honor Society, the Spanish National Honor Society, Peer Helpers, the Science/Robotics Club and theatre. Emma has been accepted to North Carolina State University, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Lehigh University and the University of New Hampshire. She plans to pursue a degree in biomedical engineering.
The 2019 Salutatorian is Kelsey Pine, daughter of Ericka and Richard Pine of Strafford. While at Coe-Brown, Kelsey has been a member of the National Honor Society, the Spanish National Honor Society, Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA), the Writing Center, and the Cross-country, winter and spring track teams. Kelsey has been accepted to the University of New Hampshire, Northeastern University, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Science, Simmons University, Saint Anselm College, Colby-Sawyer College, and the University of New England. She has elected to attend the University of New Hampshire in the fall to study nursing.

Shayla Ashley, daughter of Sean and Susan Ashley of Strafford has been a member of the National Honor Society, the Spanish National Honor Society, FCCLA, the Writing Center, Poetry Out Loud and the International Thespian Society. She has also been a member of the Girls’ Varsity Basketball team. Shayla has been accepted to UNH, Hofstra University, Brandeis University, and Boston University, and will be attending Boston University in the fall to major in English Education.
Shealyn Bedell, daughter of April and Michael Bedell of Strafford, has been a member of the National Honor Society, the Spanish National Honor Society, Peer Helpers, Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA), the Student Athlete Leadership Team and the Varsity Soccer team during her years at CBNA. Shealyn has been accepted to Rhodes College with a presidential scholarship, Pennsylvania State University, and the University of New Hampshire with a presidential scholarship. She will be attending Rhodes College with a major in Neuroscience and a minor in Spanish.
Alice Ewing, daughter of Emily and Nathaniel Ewing of Nottingham, has been a member of the Pep and Jazz Bands, Creative Writing Club, the Quiz Bowl Team, the Robotics Team, the Math Team, CBNA Today (school newspaper), the Debate Club, and Project SEARCH while a student at CBNA. Alice has been accepted to Colby College, Colgate University, American University, St. Lawrence University, and University of Vermont-Honors College. She plans to major in International Relations.
Ian Gollihur, son of Jeannine and Andrew Gollihur of Northwood, has been a member of the National Honor Society, the International Thespian Society, the Boys’ Volleyball team, the Writing Center, Student Government, Amnesty International, CBNA Today and Project SEARCH during his years at CBNA. Ian has been accepted to McGill University, the University of Vermont, Saint Anselm College, UNH, University of Maine Orono and plans to double major in political science and psychology most likely at the University of Vermont.
Guillermo Gomez, son of Jennifer and Kenneth Sommerer of New Boston, has participated in CBNA school life by being a member of the National Honor Society, the Spanish National Honor Society and the Polyglot Club during his time at Coe Brown. He has been accepted at Georgia State University, Husson University, Michigan State University, the University of Massachusetts Lowell, and the University of New Hampshire. Guillermo has selected Husson University for his studies next year and is planning to major in Criminal Justice and Psychology.
Colby Hoffman, son of Joanne Thomas Hoffman of Nottingham, has been a member of the National Honor Society, the CBNA Math Team, Student Government, and the Boys’ Soccer, Indoor and Outdoor Track Teams. Colby has been accepted to UNH, UMaine, URI, UConn, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Worcester Polytechnic Institute and intends to major in engineering at either UConn or Rensselaer.
Paige Marston, daughter of Christine and Philip Marston of Barrington, has participated in Girls’ Varsity Lacrosse, Select Choir, National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society, International Thespian Society, Peer Helpers, All-State Music Festival, and All-State Chamber Music Festival during her years at Coe-Brown. Paige has been accepted to Worcester State University, University of New Hampshire, Sacred Heart University, Alvernia University and plans to study Occupational Therapy at Worcester State University in the fall.
Maria Ortiz, daughter of Melissa Gonzales and Juan Ortiz of Strafford, has been involved with Spanish National Honor Society, Chemistry Society, Project SEARCH, and Concert Band while at CBNA. Maria has been chosen to study mechanical engineering and has been accepted to New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, Norwich University, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Stevens Institute of Technology and the University of New Hampshire.
Megan Wimsatt, daughter of John and Cathleen Wimsatt of Northwood, has been a member of the Girls’ Varsity Soccer and Tennis teams, National Honor Society, French National Honor Society, Student Athlete Leadership Team, FFA and was named a NH Student Athlete Scholar during her years at Coe-Brown. Megan has been accepted to the University of New Hampshire, the University of New England and the University of Maine. Her post-secondary plans are to attend UNH with a major in biology.
In addition, the CBNA Class of 2019 consists of 169 students scheduled to receive diplomas on Friday, May 26, 2019, at 7 pm. One hundred and thirty-five of these students will be recognized as honor graduates and 26 are members of the National Honor Society. Congratulations to the class of 2019.
