Flu Vaccine Clinic for CBNA students

Hello CBNA parents and guardians!

We are providing a school-based flu clinic for all students in 3 weeks on Thursday, November 19. Our clinic is being offered in cooperation with the New Hampshire Immunization Program (Division of Public Health Services) and your local public health network.

Why sign your child up for this year’s flu clinic?

  • It is provided at NO COST to your family.
  • Your child will be less likely to get the flu and miss school time.
  • CONVENIENT! You won’t have to make a trip to your medical provider.

The best way to protect against the flu and its complications is to get a flu vaccine each year. Anyone can catch the flu, but rates of infection are often highest among children.  Some children may suffer from complications of the flu if they have other health conditions like asthma, diabetes, or heart disease.  The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services recommend that everyone six months of age and older get a flu vaccine.

At the flu vaccination clinic, trained medical staff will administer the flu vaccine and all safety precautions will be taken. Your child will be monitored for 15 minutes after they receive their vaccine and then will return to their class.

If you would like your child to receive a flu vaccine in school, please download, print, complete, and sign the attached consent form. Please have your child return the signed consent form this week to the main office. If you unable to print the consent form at home and need a paper copy, please call us at 942-5531 ext 112 or your child can pick one up in the main office.

Vaccine Information Statements (VIS), provided from the CDC, are available at the following link to help answer your questions: http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/hcp/vis/index.html.
