CBNA Theatre Program Features “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown”

Northwood, New Hampshire… Coe-Brown Northwood Academy’s theatre program is pleased to announce their 2021 fall musical You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown! This spirited musical about a beloved icon of American popular culture features music, scenery, and acting by CBNA students that will knock your socks off! Come join Snoopy, Linus, Lucy, Schroeder, and the rest of the Peanuts gang as they search for the meaning of true happiness.

The CBNA Theatre program participants are thrilled to perform for a live audience again this fall. Junior Clair Burbank (playing Sally), freshman Ethan Welch (ensemble and swing), and freshman Emma Perry (ensemble) all agreed that they loved, “…just getting to play being kids and without having any big worries.” Junior Sam Marcotte, who plays Charlie Brown, loves the sense of community this production has had, while Junior Chris Reed, who plays Linus, echoed those thoughts, noting that, “… he just loves getting to work with this group of performers and crew.” All of the actors agree that the set and costumes, and especially the dog house, make rehearsals even more fun. The production’s logo was student designed by CBNA Junior Ian Helm.

This production is directed by CBNA faculty member Jennifer Moynihan, with additional faculty support from choreographer Kolby Hume and music director Erin Davis. Moynihan notes:

For me, I would like to say how lucky I have been to work with such a dedicated group of students who have learned so many aspects of theatre beyond acting in this show. We have had amazing volunteers in Danielle Muir and her artistic eye, and Dana Haley who helped us build some of our set pieces. Erin Davis is our new music director and she has been a wonderful asset to our students in learning the music and learning how to make character and music work together. Kolby Hume is the other essential piece of our puzzle- she choreographs, costumes, and takes care of many behind the scenes aspects, which allows me to focus on the big picture and dedicate time to blocking and character work with students. Without many dedicated hands this performance would not be possible.

Evening performances will take place Friday, November 12 and Saturday, November 13 at 7 pm, with a matinee performance on Saturday, November 13 at 1 pm. Mobile tickets are available online now. Tickets will also be available for cash purchase one hour before curtain on the day of the performances. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students/seniors, and $5 for youth. This show is appropriate for kids of all ages. Seating is general admission, although special need requests will be honored when possible.
