The employee in this position is responsible for managing and overseeing the reading program, including testing and tracking reading scores for all students. In addition, the Reading Specialist will work individually with students to improve their reading ability. This employee will also teach English courses appropriate to readers approaching proficiency.

Assistant Headmaster

Coe-Brown Northwood Academy has an opening in its administrative team. The employee in the Assistant Headmaster position will share responsibility for approximately 700 high school students (grades 9-12) and over 100 staff on the beautiful shores of Harvey Lake in Northwood, NH. Students attending Coe-Brown come from several sending communities that have contracts or memorandums of understanding stipulating that Coe-Brown provides a competitive and effective high school education for their students.

The unique status as a public academy is reflected in many aspects of the Academy life and students and staff enjoy the beautiful campus with six classroom buildings. The Assistant Headmaster holds a full year position in administration, helping oversee faculty and students at Coe-Brown. This employee works closely with the other members of the administrative team, promoting a successful educational environment for students and staff, and is expected to contribute meaningfully to the positive culture and climate at Coe-Brown.

Qualifications for this position include:

  • A master’s degree in Educational Administration and Supervision or the equivalent
  • Five or more years of high school classroom experience as well as experience in a supervisory capacity
  • New Hampshire Principal Certificate
  • Successful administrative experience at the high school level preferred
