On Campus Driver Education / Program Details

Coe-Brown Northwood Academy

Thank you for your interest in our on-campus Driver Education program. The Charles M. Whitten School of Driving, LLC provides the instruction. The details below explain how the program works, what is required for enrollment, and which forms must be submitted. If you have questions after reading this page, email cwhitten@coebrown.org. Classes & schedule

Classes: One class offered for both Semester I and Semester II

Length: 52 classes, NO weekend classes, NO vacation classes, ONLY days students are on campus

Days: 4 days per week / Monday, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays ONLY (NO Friday class)

Class Dates:

Semester I / September 21st thru December 23rd, 2026 (school days ONLY)    *Parent night; September 17th @ 5pm / Smith Hall, Room 504

Semester II / January 4th thru April 22nd, 2027 (school days ONLY)

   *Parent night; December 21st @ 5pm / Smith Hall, Room 504

Class Time: 7:00 to 7:35 am / Before regular classes with dismissal @ 7:35 to the first block classDriving: After school primarily, occasional weekends, holidays and vacations as time allows

Fee, location & classroom

  • Fee: $850.00 total, inclusive of the required $400.00 non-refundable deposit made w/enrollment
  • Location: Coe-Brown Northwood Academy, 907 First NH Trpk, Northwood NH 03261
  • Classroom: Smith Hall, Room 504 (Health and Driver Education)

Enrollment criteria & requirements

  • 1. Enrollment criteria MUST be met and ALL paperwork submitted for enrollment.
  • 2. Students MUST meet age requirements set by the NH Division of Motor Vehicles.
  •        I. Be 15 yrs. and 9 months of age on or before the first day of enrollment. Or
  •        II. Reach their 16th birthday on or before the last day of class enrollment.
  •        III. There are NO EXCEPTIONS to this state rule.
  • 3. No court orders or ruling by the Division of Motor Vehicles delaying licensing.
  • 4. Currently enrolled as a student at Coe-Brown Northwood Academy.
  • 5. Have completed 20 or more hours of on road practice driving BEFORE the first day of class.
  • 6. Is able to meet classroom requirements to include, but not limited to;
  •       I. Attend all classroom instruction as outlined by the state of NH
  •       II. Miss less than 4 total hours of classroom instruction per state rule.
  •       III. Schedule driving or observation of 1 or 2 hours per week until requirements are met.
  •       IV. Work to maintain a class average of 80% or higher (redo and retake work is available)
  •       V. Follow ALL policies and procedures as set forth by;
  •                  a. Coe-Brown Northwood Academy (CBNA)
  •                  b. Charles M. Whitten School of Driving, LLC (CMW)
  •                  c. New Hampshire Division of Motor Vehicles (NH DMV)

Enrollment process

  • I. Read ALL program details from above prior to enrollment.
  • II. Ensure class dates meet age requirements and scheduling conflicts.
  • III. Visit coebrown.org and locate the Driver Education link, under “Student Life”.
  • IV. Print ALL enrollment paperwork needed. (electronic submissions are NOT available)
  • V. Return ALL paperwork to Coe-Brown w/the student, drop off or US mail.
  • VI. Students NOT enrolled will be notified. ALL others have been enrolled

Required paperwork

The following items must be submitted for enrollment. Only complete packets are processed. Any remaining balance is due on or before the first day of the class section your student is enrolled in.
  1. Download On Campus Driver Education / Program Details: DE Details Sheet.
  2. A current CONTRACT, signed by the student and parent/guardian.
  3. A current Student Data sheet.
  4. Parent Night Acknowledgement.
  5. A copy of the student’s birth certificate (photocopy is acceptable).
  6. Additional supervised Driving Log Sheet (DSMV509; also available from the NH DMV website).
  7. Policies and Procedures.

Return packets to: Coe-Brown Northwood Academy, 907 First NH Turnpike, Northwood, NH 03261, ATTN: Driver Ed Enrollment. You may also bring materials to the front office with attention to Driver Education enrollment or Mr. Whitten.
