Northwood, New Hampshire… Headmaster David S. Smith is pleased to announce Coe-Brown Northwood Academy’s Top 10 Graduates of the Class of 2026.
Isabelle Grenier has been named the Class of 2026 Valedictorian. The daughter of Shanyn and Marc Grenier of Barrington, NH, Isabelle will attend Tufts University, where she plans to major in Cognitive and Brain Science. A dedicated and well-rounded student, Isabelle serves as Vice President of the National Honor Society and is an active member of the National English Honor Society, SALT, and Yearbook Club. She has earned significant recognition in the arts, including three Gold Keys at the CBNA Winter Arts Festival and an Honorable Mention at the New Hampshire Scholastic Art Awards. Isabelle is also an accomplished athlete. She is a senior captain of the Girls Varsity Volleyball team and was named First Team Division II All-State. In track and field, she is a member of both the indoor and outdoor varsity teams, earning two Division II All-State selections and becoming a two-time Division II State Champion in both discus and shot put. Her academic achievements include sophomore Excellence Awards in Science and French, College Board AP Scholar recognition, National Small and Rural Recognition, National Top School Recognition, and the NHIAA Scholar-Athlete Award.
Jadyn Spearin has been named the Class of 2026 Salutatorian. The daughter of Jason Spearin and Tricia Spearin of Nottingham, NH, Jadyn plans to attend a four-year college where she will major in Biochemistry. Jadyn has demonstrated exceptional leadership and involvement throughout her high school career. She serves as President of the National Honor Society, Co-President of HOSA, and Event Coordinator for the National English Honor Society. She is also an active member of the Math Team, Peer Helpers, Project Search, and SALT. In athletics, Jadyn is a senior captain of the varsity soccer team and earned Honorable Mention for Division II All-State Girls Soccer. Her academic excellence has been recognized with multiple awards, including Excellence in English, Spanish, and Science during her freshman year, as well as College Board Rural and Small Town Recognition, College Board School Recognition, and AP Scholar honors. As a senior, she also received Highest Honors in Excellence in Science and Mathematics from the Society of Women Engineers.
The Remaining Top Ten Class of 2026 Graduates in Alphabetical Order:
Sadie Bartlein, daughter of Suzee Bartlein and Daniel Bartlein of Northwood, will attend Lehigh University, where she plans to major in English and minor in Theatre. Sadie has been deeply involved in the arts and school community throughout her high school career. She is a four-year member of CBNA Theatre, serving as both President and Secretary of the International Thespian Society. She also spent three years with the CBNA Today Newspaper as Editor-in-Chief and is an active member of the CBNA Choir and Band, where she serves as Soprano Section Leader. Additionally, she is a member of the National English Honor Society. Her accomplishments have been recognized with Excellence Awards in Performing Arts, History, and English during her junior year, along with the College Board Rural and Small Town Recognition Award and the College Board School Recognition Award.
Julie Biron, daughter of Jennifer and John Biron of Barrington, NH, will attend the University of New Hampshire, where she plans to major in Biochemistry, Molecular and Cellular Biology. Julie has been an active and dedicated member of her school community. She serves as Treasurer of the National Honor Society and Co-President of HOSA alongside Jadyn Spearin. In addition, she participates in Project Search, Peer Helpers, and the Math Team. Her strong academic performance has earned her numerous honors, including Academic Excellence in Science for the 2024–2025 school year, High Honor Roll recognition throughout grades 10–12, AP Scholar distinction, and both the College Board Rural and Small Town Recognition Award and College Board School Recognition Award.
Summer Brackett, daughter of Michael Brackett and Qing Lin of Barrington, NH, plans to attend Cornell University’s Duffield School of Engineering, where she will study Mechanical Engineering. She also plans to pursue opportunities to study abroad during her college career. Summer has demonstrated exceptional leadership, creativity, and academic achievement throughout high school. She serves as President of the Spanish Honor Society and Tri-M Music Honor Society, and is a co-founder of the Calligraphy Club. She has also been actively involved in numerous organizations, including the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, French Honor Society, Russian Honor Society, Latin Honor Society, Project: SEARCH, Math Team, Writing Center, Jazz Band, and Film Club, where she serves as Lead Editor. In music, she is the Lead Trumpet for Jazz Band. Her accomplishments span academics, arts, and performance. She is a Poetry Out Loud State Champion and an AP Scholar, and has earned multiple Scholastic Regional Writing Awards, including a Gold Key and Honorable Mention. In visual arts, she received six Gold Keys at the CBNA Winter Arts Festival and additional Scholastic Regional Art Honorable Mentions. She has also been recognized with the Society of Women Engineers Certificate of Merit with Highest Honors in Recognition of Excellence in Science and Mathematics, Academic Excellence in Math and Russian (2024 and 2025), Outstanding Trumpet Section honors in Jazz Band, and the Rural and Small Town School Award.
Emma Corey, daughter of Kimberly Corey of Strafford, NH, plans to attend Plymouth State University, where she will study Nursing. She intends to pursue a career as a nurse practitioner, specializing in either dermatology or aesthetic nursing. Emma has been actively involved in a wide range of school and extracurricular activities. She serves as Vice President of the National Spanish Honor Society and is a member of HOSA, Tri-M Music Honor Society, CBNA Theatre, Select Choir, and CBNA Today. She is also involved in the Writing Center, Juggling Club, and Chorus, where she serves as Alto Section Leader. Her academic and extracurricular achievements include Excellence in Spanish during her sophomore year, along with being named Miss Deerfield Fair.
Joanna Henly, daughter of Megan Henly and Joshua Henly of Nottingham, NH, will attend the University of New Hampshire, where she has been accepted into the Honors College and plans to major in Linguistics. Joanna has been an active and dedicated member of the CBNA arts and academic community. She has participated in the Jazz Ensemble for four years as a pianist and also performed with the Pep Band as a trumpet player. In addition, she has been involved in the Writing Center since her sophomore year and is a member of the National English Honor Society. Her academic achievements include being recognized as a finalist for the National Merit Scholarship.
Oliver Ford, son of Caryn Lasky and Duane Ford of Strafford, NH, will attend Endicott College, where he plans to major in Actuarial Mathematics. Oliver has been a highly involved student-athlete and leader throughout his time at CBNA. He serves as an officer on the Student Athlete Leadership Team and has been a member of Yearbook, National Honor Society, National Latin Honor Society, National English Honor Society, and Peer Helpers. He has also been a three-sport varsity athlete and team captain in boys’ soccer, volleyball, and basketball. His achievements span academics, athletics, and the arts. Oliver is an AP Scholar and NH Scholar, recipient of the DAR Good Citizenship Award, and recognized with the National Rural and Small-Town Recognition Award and Exemplary Attendance Award. In athletics, he has earned All-State Honorable Mention in both soccer and volleyball, and NHIAA Basketball Association Honors Recognition. He was also recognized for over 1,000 career assists in varsity volleyball. In academics and the arts, he received Latin Academic Excellence for three years and multiple Scholastic Gold Key awards in writing and art, along with additional athletic awards for his outstanding contributions across all three sports.
Sofya Gunderson, daughter of Suzanne Gunderson and Edward Gunderson of Nottingham, NH, will attend Syracuse University, where she plans to major in Exercise Science. Sofya has been an active member of the CBNA community, participating in volleyball, the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, Yearbook, HOSA, and Project SEARCH. Her academic achievements include the Bear Pride Award and consistent placement on the Highest Honor Roll.
Olivia Zadakis, daughter of John and Kristin Zadakis of Nottingham, NH, will attend the University of New Hampshire, where she plans to major in Neuroscience and Behavior. She has also been accepted into UNH’s Honors College, where she will continue her academic studies. While at CBNA, Olivia was a three-season varsity athlete in cross country and track, competing primarily in the 1600, 3000, 3200, and 5K events. Her academic achievements include being recognized as an AP Scholar by the College Board, earning perfect scores of 5 on all three of her junior-year AP exams.
